The guides are not professional advice.
The practical guides on this site are general information written for enthusiasts. They are not a substitute for a licensed contractor, and they cannot account for your building, your local codes, or the specific condition of your doorway. Home improvement involves tools, weight, and load-bearing structures. Check your local building codes, and hire a professional when the job calls for one. You take on the risk of any work you do.
By using backdoorfreaks.com, you agree to what follows. If you don't, please don't use the site.
What this site is
The Earnest Door Appreciation Society is exactly what it says: a site about doors — appreciating them, cataloguing them, and explaining how to look after them. The name is a joke, and the joke is the whole of it. There is no adult content here. It is doors.
Accuracy
The Society takes its doors seriously, but content here may be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong. Products change, standards change, and no guide survives contact with every house. Verify anything that matters before you act on it.
No warranty and no liability
This site is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, the site and its operator are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from your use of it — including from work undertaken on the basis of a guide published here.
Content and ownership
Unless stated otherwise, the writing and photography on this site belong to its operator. Link to it and quote it with attribution freely; wholesale reproduction requires permission. Product names and marks belong to their respective owners.
Links elsewhere
This site links to sites it does not control and is not responsible for their content or practices.
Changes
